The Spanish side followed up an opening 0-0 draw at Manchester United, with a 1-0 win at home to Celtic in their last UEFA Champions League game.

Yellow Submarines coach Manuel Pellegrini fears teams are starting to adopt a negative approach to trips to El Madrigal and hopes Aalborg will not deploy the same tactics.

“I’m happy my players are finding answers to the tactical questions being posed and I’m confident we’ll do this against Aalborg,” said Pellegrini.

“I’ve watched the Danes in three matches, against Celtic, Manchester United and when they played AGF Aarhus, and they are a good footballing side who like to avoid the typical long-ball style you often get from Nordic clubs.”

Pellegrini is hoping influential trio Joan Capdevila, Santi Cazorla and Edmilson will shake off knocks in order to feature against the Danish side.

However, Sebastian Eguren will miss Tuesday’s fixture, and the return in a fortnight’s time, although Guille Franco is fit.
